The traditional cuisine is as diverse as the more than eighty different ethnic groups inhabiting in Ethiopia. A typical dish consists of thin, pancake-like, leavened bread called \u201CEnjera\u201D accompanied by a thick spicy stew often comprising either vegetables, different legumes such as lentils and ground split pea, meats (beef or lamb) or chicken. Enjera is part almost all dishes. Authentic Enjera is made from a cereal called Teff which is unique to Ethiopia. Teff is healthy and nutritious being rich in carbohydrate, protein, and minerals such as iron and calcium; and is importantly gluten free. The unique flavour of Ethiopian cuisine emanates from the traditional spicy ingredients used in the preparations of the different stews called \u201CWat\u201D. One primary ingredient is \u201CBerbere\u201D, a combination of powdered chili pepper and spices including garlic, ginger, basil and other herb condiments. Another important ingredient which imparts a uniquely delicious taste is \u201CNiter Kibeh\u201D, a clarified butter infused with different spices including cardamom, garlic, black cummin, tumeric, fenugreek, sacred basil, rue, ginger, cloves, long pepper, black pepper and salt. The sauce for the stew (\u201CWot\u201D) is cooked from onions, oil and the various aforementioned spices. We provide a large variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian meal.
