Nandroya Falls Circuit Track is located within Palmerston (Doongan) Wooroonooran National Park. The Palmerston section of Wooroonooran National Park is included in the traditional lands of the Ma:Mu Aboriginal people. At the heart of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, it is a place of very high biodiversity, due to the high rainfall and fertile soils derived from basalt rocks. The dense rainforest attracts a diverse range of animals. Bright butterflies are commonly encountered and observant visitors may see a platypus swimming in the creek or a musky rat-kangaroo hopping through the forest.
The six kilometre circuit track leaves from the Henrietta Creek camping area. After a short distance the track divides. The left branch leads directly to Nandroya Falls (1.7 kilometres), winding along the upper valley of Douglas Creek, passing the pretty, 10 metre high Silver Creek Falls on the way. The right branch is a longer 3.5 kilometre route to the falls. At Nandroya Falls, Douglas Creek drops in a narrow, uninterrupted, 50 metre fall from a basalt parapet. This walk can be done as a circuit walk, returning by the alternative route, allowing 2-3 hours walking time to complete this track of a moderate grade....
